Illegal Content Reporting
Use this process for content you believe violates applicable law. Ordinary rule violations should use the Report control beside the content.
How to submit
The public illegal-content form does not require a Bothlo account. Provide the exact URL or identifier, the type of illegality, a clear explanation, a contact email and a good-faith confirmation. A name is optional. Cloudflare Turnstile protects the form.
What makes a useful notice
- identify the exact item and, if relevant, the statement/image at issue;
- explain the legal reason and relevant country;
- state whether you are the affected person, rights holder or representative;
- include supporting information you are lawfully entitled to share;
- use accurate contact details so Bothlo can request clarification.
After submission
The server rate-limits repeated notices and records a private fingerprint to prevent abuse. Contact details remain in a private companion record while the moderation queue receives the report. A report does not automatically remove content. An authorised reviewer may reject, review or resolve it and may hide content, lock discussion, restrict an account or take another proportionate measure. Where required, Bothlo will communicate the decision or seek additional information.
Good faith and misuse
Submit only information you believe is accurate. Do not knowingly make false accusations, expose unnecessary personal data or use the process to silence lawful disagreement. Misuse may be restricted and may have legal consequences.
Emergencies and authorities
This form is not an emergency service. Contact local emergency services for immediate danger. Courts, law-enforcement bodies and other competent authorities may contact contact@bothlo.com. Bothlo will require lawful authority and disclose only what is necessary.
Rights and appeals
A reporter may contact Bothlo about the notice. An affected registered user may use the moderation appeal process where an appeal is available. This process does not limit court, regulator, copyright or data-protection remedies.
